What should we do next?

After finished one project, designers have to think of next design. So, what should we do next? For next, designers are searching data, talking each other to find solution. This movie is for those kind of things. I think designers have to get good observation. Near designers' life there are good sources to make good work. And, curiosity! designers have to get interest things that they 've never been and done.

Top 3 Sustainability Trends for 2009

In the face of a weak dollar, mass layoffs, and the world's corporate giants floundering, what are the corporate sustainability efforts we can realistically expect from businesses in 2009?
There are three big trends to watch out for: sustainability labels, virtual meetings, and zero waste.
1. sustainability labels:

2) a whole sustainability index measuring recycled content
3) food miles traveled

2. virtual meetings
The future consists of webinars instead of seminars.

3. zero waste
try to reduce the packaging, the weight, the transportation the size.

food miles traveled
(http://www.ceres.org.au/projects/CERES_Report_%20Food_Miles_in_Australia_March08.pdf) 'food miles' is a term now commonly used to measure the transport travelled by food products between production and consumption. Food miles is one part of a larger full life-cycle assessment required to compare the sustainability of individual items in food systems.

carbon footprint means carbon reduction label.   The carbon footprint is a measurement of all greenhouse gases we individually produce and has units of tonnes (or kg) of carbon dioxide equivalent.
Co2 can be make by using cell phone, paper cup.

my ideas :) In this part like a sustainability design, it will be important from now also in the future. Designers have to try to think how to communicate well with visual communication design; logo in sustainability.

I am also using Facebook as making social network and recording data. I think Facebook is a  good tool for introducing themselves. Nowadays, even celebrities are using Facebook to get the public attention. As uploading their pictures and notes the public can be familiar with celebrities' private lives. But also they can communicate each other. By using Facebook for some commercial products, it is possible to review and get a information by users. There are possibilities in Facebook to be good  advertising carriers.

The best billboard in New York (review2)

http://sethgodin.typepad.com/
while I research this project, I found this billboard picture. this is very shocking, because the billboard was combined by the rules of billboard. I think it is very effective billboard. The only thing that it should be fixed is billboard's design part. Anyway, It will be useful when I have to start to think of design projects.

South Korean Ex-President Kills Himself
His death was a great shock to me. I can say he was the person who was like a Obama in Korea.
Appearing Mr. Roh in the political fields meant change and progressiveness in Korea. He was a self-educated lawyer. Even though he didn't get University education, he passed a exam to be a lawyer. I am really sorry about his choice to commit suicide. The good things while he was worked as a president were he tried to listen voice of the public and made the public participate in government.

Actually, I am really interested in sustainable design.
I think this ship is really cool. It is just made by wasted bottles.
The interesting things it can be moved by wind. Also, there is a garden to grow food on the boat. Nowadays, the earth is getting warm and Pollution is very big problem to us. I believe this boat makes people inspire to protect environment.

Amtrak

http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak/HomePage

Amtrak is a high-speed train.

The seniors use Amtrak because of its effective cost and convenience even though using Amtrak is more expensive than using bus or own car.
Also, older people are hard to drive for a long time. Thus, for a long trip, older people prefer to take Amtrak train. In addition, time is worth for business man. As one of older people, business man prefer to take Amtrak to reduce time.

On the other hand, young people prefer to cheaper transportation and the freedom to go where you want.

Start! Interactive design 2009 Summer semester

After finished digital design 2008 fall semester, I wanted to study more about interactive design parts.

Also, Interactive design is considered an important among the various design categories. I have so far completed Typography 1,2, Visual Communication 1,2, Digital design, Electronic Pre-press.

I am a little bit nervous but also excited about studying Interactive design course for summer because the summer course is a little bit intensive to finish within short time. But good thing is that I can just focus on this course.

For next semester, lots of lecture courses are waiting to me. I believe this course will be helpful to learn not only design parts but
also overall knowledges like research and presentation skills.

Let's start to learn Interactive design.
